I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on your historic re-election as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The people of Indonesia have clearly signalled their confidence in your leadership and ability to deliver progress and prosperity. Your impressive victory in the presidential election is an endorsement of your successful policies, in particular your strong stance against corruption and adept management of the economy. I am confident that Indonesia will continue to enjoy stability and growth under your able leadership.

Our two countries share a deep friendship founded on a broad commonality of interests. It is a friendship marked not only by close cooperation at the bilateral, regional and international levels, but also by strong and far-reaching ties between our peoples. I am convinced that our two countries will continue to build on this friendship for our mutual benefit.

I look forward to working with you in your new term of office to further strengthen the close relationship between our two countries. I take this opportunity to also wish you good health and success in your endeavours.

My warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the Republic of Indonesia. Your resounding victory in the presidential election is a clear affirmation of the Indonesian people’s confidence and trust in your leadership in these uncertain times.

We have made good progress on our bilateral relations during your first term as President. As we discussed on the phone on 9 July, I share your hope that we can build on this record, and continue to make further progress in the next five years.

There are many mutually beneficial projects we can work together on, both bilaterally and in ASEAN. In these uncertain times, we need to enhance our linkages and integrate our economies, in order to boost confidence and restore growth as soon as possible.
